Leftover Photos from Project Life

Apr 08

I am really loving Project Life. I love that every day I am reminded to capture my day. It helps me to feel like even normal days are actually multitudes of moments that make up my life. It helps me to realise that even though I feel like time is whizzing by, I am blessed to be able to look back on what a fortunate life we live, and that “just” living is about embracing these every day moments.

Now most people are a little more organised than I am, and will often plan which photos to print BEFORE they go to the photo labs at K-Mart or Big W. But I don’t have that strength of commitment! I look at the photos on the screen and wonder what they would look like printed, and at 10c per photo, I end up printing a few more than I actually need or use.

Do you remember getting those dodgy Pixie Photo portraits done, and you tell yourself time and again that you will ONLY just get the free one? But then they lay out all these photos of your gorgeous children and they smile smugly as they explain that if you won’t buy them for the bargain price of 10 squillion dollars that they will *gasp* throw them in the bin! And so you hand over the cash, feeling ill at the cost, but so relieved that your precious children have not ended up in the bin.

So my point in all this is that I can’t stand throwing photos out – never mind that I still have the file on my computer, and can re-print them at any time. That’s not the point!

My solution was to buy 4 cheap little albums, and label them with the kids’ name stickers.

Then any leftover photos that don’t go into my Project Life album, get divided into these little albums, depending on which child happens to be in the photo.

I feel happy because I haven’t thrown out any photos, and the kids LOVE looking through their very own little album!

The total cost of each of these albums, complete with photos, is under $5. So it doesn’t matter if they get loved to death. And it’s so heart-warming to see the children sharing their albums with each other!

Hi Kim! Thank you so much! It really means so much when someone takes the time to pass on such a lovely message :)
How exciting that you are thinking of starting your own blog! You will love it, and I am certain that with cardmaking you will have PLENTY to write about.
As far as tech tips go, hmmmmm. I am still learning and slowly picking my way through the tech jungle. There is a surprising amount to learn, but the best way is to just jump in and go for it! Make sure you let me know what you call your Blog!!
      Nat :)
