Make Your Own Placemat!

Jun 30

This is an oldie but a goodie! The kids love taking charge of the design of their placemats, and it makes mealtime all that more exciting! Perfect for a school holiday activity!

You will need: Paper (I like A3 for this activity), paint, pens, or stamps, laminator

I am a big fan of the Riot Art & Craft stores – they have heaps of supplies and are very reasonably priced. We bought these cute little foam stamps, and a few big paint pads in different colours. But the rule is – one stamp per colour!!

I love hearing the pleases and thank yous as they work together. It’s a great activity to get them sharing, and quite often Fred and Maddy help Katie with ideas as well showing her how to use the stamps.

When everyone has finished, leave the masterpieces to dry – you don’t want any wet paint on these!! Then simply laminate them!

Now they are all ready for dinner! And of course, they are easy to wipe clean too.

Enjoy!
