Swingz n Thingz Kids Swings Review

Jul 04

I think we are so lucky to have our most perfect weather in the middle of winter! After a long hot summer, in which we tended to be housebound during the middle of the day, the kids and I love being able to spend most of the days outdoors – enjoying the beautiful warm sunshine, and making the most of all that the outdoors has to offer.

The children seem to go between playing on the swings, climbing the fort, jumping on the trampoline, “cooking” in the cubby house or riding their bikes around and around. I have felt it quite hard this year to balance the needs of Lucy with those of the other three. I love Lucy to be outside with us, but there really isn’t a whole lot that she can happily engage in for long stretches of time.

Until now! I have found the perefct solution that keep everyone happy – and Lucy probably happiest of all!

The Kids Swing from Swingz n Thingz has allowed me to set us all up outside, and most importantly has given Lucy a chance to enjoy the great outdoors and feel the beautiful sunshine. I have been looking for the perfect swing for Lucy for a while – I just can’t “do” all the plastic crappy stuff anymore. It fades, cracks, and is often such poor quality that I have to throw it out long before the kids are finished with it. So I finally found a quality swing that I knew would stand up to all that we would throw at it!

Before I tell you all the ins and outs of the swing, I just have to show you this video. I was so excited when the swing arrived, that I had to immediately give Lucy a go – you will see that I didn’t even bother taking the tag off – I’m a little impulsive when it comes to new stuff! I wasn’t sure what her first reaction would be – she’s never been in a swing before, but I could never have imagined just how much she would LOVE it!

The first thing you will notice about the swing is the quality of the materials that are used: the big standouts for me are fadeproof marine acrylic, and UV stabilised marine rope. This means that even if you leave the swing out (I have mine under our patio), the colours will always look beautiful and bright, and the ropes won’t deteriorate (which would of course be very dangerous!). All you need is a strong beam or tree branch to hang it from. You also get a storage and carry bag which is handy when you want to bring it inside.

For my little Lucy, it includes a seat belt but the big kids can use it too – it takes up to 100kg (recommended for up to around 8 years)!

I love that it includes a cushion for the little ones – one because it gives them a bit more support in sitting up straight, but two, because Lucy lookd so darn cute when she realised she could just kick back and put her feet up! You can see in the picture below just how deep the swing is – she really is so secure in there!

All Swingz n Thingz products are handmade right here in Queensland, and there are heaps of things for the adults too – I have my eye on the Hanging Chair!- and the Kids Teepees are just so cute!!!

Hold on Miss Lucy! It’s time for a Rocket-Ship!

She doesn’t like it very much does she! I love how she never lets go of the rope though – just to be on the safe-side!

Now you know me – I can’t resist sharing the love with you, so Swingz n Thingz are generously offering a 20% off discount off ALL PRODUCTS when you enter the code “MSSWINGZ” at checkout. Most products are sent with FREE EXPRESS delivery to anywhere in Australia (International customers simply need to enquire for accurate costs).
