Lucinda’s Naming Day – One Fine Day!

Mar 14

I have been looking forward to this day for months! After spending countless hours gazing online at photos for inspiration, I had so much fun putting together a day of celebration for our baby girl’s Naming Day. The excitement all began in the morning when Fred and Katie both ran giggling into our room, whispering (at the tops of their voices), “Wake up, wake up! It’s Lucy’s Naming Day!”. They were so excited to see that overnight their breakfast table had miraculously turned into this!

The Dessert Table was a lot of fun to design and put together!

And the beautiful cake was made by the same clever lady who made our wedding cake, almost 8 years ago.

Lucy looked so beautiful all dressed up in her special outfit. We attempted many times to tame her hair, but eventually gave up. This was taken straight after some hair styling!

Lucy was such a happy little girl for the whole day (actually her whole life), and listened intently to every word of the ceremony!

But then did start getting a little tired!

Maddy, Fred and Katie all enjoyed watching Lucy be officially named, and were pleased to be a part of the sand ceremony – you can see Fred holding the end result.

Thanks so much to my Mum who was constantly shopping for the “perfect” items for the day, including a last-minute dash for Lucy’s shoes! And also to my sister who stepped in as the official photographer for the day when my brother was taken down with the flu.

I just adore Miss Lucinda – and I am so excited to see what an incredible life she leads!

I will have some more pics of the dessert table tomorrow :)

  2. Beautiful Nat :)
    What is the sand ceremony?

  3. Just gorgeous, looks like a lovely day :)

  4. Thank you everyone – it really was a lovely day!

Mel the sand ceremony involves each member of the family pouring layers of different coloured sand into a glass (with the parents between each layer), and the Lucy on top.

It represents Lucy coming into a family with a strong foundation and shows that we are united as a family, with all of us different, but always supporting and part of each other.

    It’s so lovely.
