Mummy Smiles Interviews Sasha and Jaz – Children of Russell Ingall, V8 Supercar Driver

I was so excited to be able to chat with the beautiful daughters of Russell Ingall, V8 Supercar Driver with Supercheap Auto Racing. I wanted to get an understanding what it would be like to have a very famous Dad, who spends his life doing something that most Dads could only dream about!
Sasha and Jaz Ingall
Sasha is 9 years old and Jaz is 7, and they were very happy to share their thoughts about what it’s like to grow up in a V8 Supercars family.
S – Dad’s job is really cool because he gets to go to races in lots of different places and countries which is like going on holiday. But it can also be a bit painful if you have a crash – like when dad cut his finger off in a go kart – my friends think it is really weird that he has a chopped off finger! I also like having all the trophies in the house and you get to be famous
J – I love my dads job cause he gets to meet all different celebrities like Pink and Good Charlotte and sometimes I get to meet them too!
S – My favourite thing is staying in really cool hotels and going around and getting all the other drivers autographs and showing them to my friends at school. I also like going on the grid and in the race I write down the positions of the cars for the team.
J – I like watching the races. I know all the cars and who drives them and sometimes I help dad with what tyres to put on and when. I also like making him posters to cheer him on.
S – I feel nervous because lots of people crash in race cars and I don’t want dad to crash – I want dad to come first.
J – I get really excited watching dad race because I know all my friends are watching and I sometimes go on TV which is awesome.
S – I like all the drivers because they are all nice to me and always make me laugh. I don’t want anyone to get upset if I don’t say them!
J – My favourite driver is Garth Tander because he is fun and I like doing pranks on him.
S – It’s weird because when I go to school, everyone talks about the races because their dads watch and they talk about my dad. They’ve been talking about him a lot lately because he has been going really good. It is cool having my friends watch my dad, on TV but sometimes it is not so fun cause he misses lots of my school concerts and things.
J – It is cool because all my friends talk about my dad and watch him on TV.
