Planning Activities for School Holidays

Jul 09

We are now two weeks into our 3 week mid-year school break.

Three weeks is such an ideal timeframe for holidays – plenty of time to recover from last term, do a whole lot of nothing to relax, and also a chance to get stuck into some fun activities.

But because holidays seem to whizz by and we are usually back at school before we can say “Lunchboxes”, the children to decided to lay down some plans for what they wanted to do over the break. Now that Maddy is a confident writer, it’s nice to take a back seat and let the children work together to make their own plans. I encouraged them to think of as many different ideas as possible, also explaining that not everything might be possible or achievable these holidays, but it was nice to brain-storm and let their minds wander.

They all contributed to the drawing and colouring (even Lucy) so they all feel ownership of the poster.

It has been a source of inspiration over the last fortnight and this week we will try and tick off a few more ideas!

School holidays seem to vary so much across the states at this time of year. Some schools are already finished and some are just starting!

What was your favourite activity over the holidays?

OR

What are you most looking forward to?
