You know those movies that stick in your head long after the movie has ended? The Chipmunks movies are definitely one of “those” movies. I don’t know what it is – but those little critters have some serious cool-factor going on!
I first saw the first Alvin and the Chipmunks at the movies with my three big kidlets, so they were busting to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked on DVD which was released on May 23 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Seeking fun and excitement, the Chipmunks turn a luxury cruise liner into their own personal playground. But the ultimate vacation quickly becomes a disaster when the Chipmunks, Dave and the ship’s pelican mascot — who turns out to be the chipmunks’ old manager — Ian Hawke (David Cross), accidentally fall overboard and find themselves ‘Chipwrecked’ on a remote island. Stuck in an unfamiliar territory, the six furry castaways are separated from Dave and must figure out a way to survive on their own for the first time in their lives.
Alvin is of course the star of the movie, but I have to admit to falling for Simon. In a seriously funny storyline (with lots of sneaky jokes for the grown-ups), Simon falls victim to a little accident which leaves him with a little personality change for most of the movie.
Whether the voices of the Chipmunks and Chipettes drive you a little batty or not, you’ll still be tapping your foot along to the soundtrack, with a classic rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.

My son, now 28 loved Alvin and the Chipmunks as a child now his son plays with his dad’s toys..they would BOTH love this.
