Bright Star Kids Bird House Wall Stickers: Review and Giveaway
Sep 03
*** This giveaway has now closed. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Kristy Thompson! ***
When I fell pregnant with Lucy, we knew we would need to do some extensions to be able to accomodate our growing family. We decided to put the big girls in to a shared room, and it was SO MUCH fun to be able to design it from scratch – choosing paint colours, furniture and all the little girly trimmings I could find!
We don’t do things quickly in this house, so I have only JUST bought the last piece of furniture for the room, and so had to have a final little re-shuffle to make everything fit (which is why the bookcase contents haven’t been arranged yet!). The trouble was that we had a glaringly obvious blank wall that was just calling out for some loving. And I found the perfect solution!
Bright Star Kids are well known for their excellent quality name labels (which I reviewed HERE), however they also have the most gorgeous collection of wall stickers which add colour, personality and fun to any room. Given that it is finally Spring, I thought the perfect way to bring some life to the blank wall would be with some cute and cheerful birds and birdhouses.
The first thing to do is measure up to make sure it will fit! When the set arrives it comes in pieces so you can choose to either build it how you like, or follow the picture example to get it just like the illustration. I accept that I missed out on the creative gene, so there was no way I was going to mess with it!
To make sure I was getting my positioning right, I cut out the main branches and stuck them to the wall with blutac, moving and re-positioning them until I found a spot that looked right, and also gave plenty of space for the leaves and birdhouses to be added.
Then it was simply a matter of carefully peeling off the backing paper and sticking each piece to the wall, using the completed picture as a guide.
The stickers themselves are made of a fabric material which sticks to virtually any smooth surface. Unlike some stickers which strip the paint from the wall when you remove them, the Bright Star Kids wall stickers come off cleanly and leave no sticky residue. This makes it much less stressful to put the stickers up because you can simply remove and re-apply if you make a mistake. But it also means that my hubby’s beautiful painting won’t be ruined when the girls want to re-arrange their furniture, or change the look of their room by placing the stickers in different positions (or even handing them down to Lucy for her room!)
I used a felt squeegee to apply the stickers which smoothed out any little bumps or wrinkles, and it gave a great finish.
It took about 30 minutes to apply the complete set, and the results are just spectacular. It makes such a huge difference to this blank corner, and the little birds look like they are fluttering around in the room!
The Bird House Wall Stickers are new to the wall sticker range, and they co-ordinate beautifully with the Owl Wall Stickers. For just $49.95 you get one large sheet that contains 57 individually cut stickers including the birds, leaves and bird houses. The total wall space required is approximately 1m x 63cm.
I am so excited to be able to offer you the chance to win your own Bird House Wall Sticker set, valued at $49.95. Simply follow the Rafflecopter details below, including leaving a comment below telling me which other design of Wall Stickers you would love to see brighten your house – you can see the full range here. Entries must be received by midnight AEST next Sunday 9th September, 2012. Australian residents only.

These wall stickers all look great. It would be a toss up between Babushka Dolls, Height chart, cowboys and Indians, monkeys or small fairies! I can’t decide they all look good. It’s also great to see so many pretty designs and loads of boyish designs which all look like great quality. They look like they won’t peel off the wall like others I have bought from eBay.
Thanks for the review.
