Fridge to Go Lunch Bags and a Special Deal for Readers

Jan 16

Books covered – check. Uniforms bought – check (but now need to swap sizes lol). Stationery labeled – check.

This week is all about the lunches. I have been busy collating all the contributions from the Mummy Smiles community, and will soon be putting together a post that offers great ideas for sandwich fillings, healthy snacks, fruits and treats.

But first things first – we have to have a lunch box for all this scrummy food!

Last year I reviewed the Fridge to Go Lunch Bags (and some of you were lucky enough to win a Lunch Bag of your own!), and I am pleased to say that Maddy’s is still going strong a year later. I have recommended the Fridge to Go to everyone I speak to because there simply is no better option to keep food fresh and cool for up to 8 hours.

The Fridge to Go Lunch Bags give you the flexibility to pack an assortment of fresh and healthy foods – you don’t need to worry about the food getting warm which can potentially lead to yukky-tasting food or even food poisoning.

Maddy would often finish her lunch in the car on the way from school, so I know for a fact that foods like yoghurt and slices kept very well – even in our Queensland heat.

I would suggest the Medium size lunch bag is ideal for Preppies onwards – there is plenty of room for morning and afternoon teas, lunch, and a water bottle or drink.

The secret is the flat cooler panel which covers the entire lunch bag. It is zipped into the lunch bag in it’s own separate section so it won’t fall out and get lost, nor does it get in the way or come into direct contact with the food. The entire bag is free from BPA and lead, and is also PVC-safe.

I would suggest that you also purchase an extra cooling panel to keep on hand as a spare. We use ours regularly in our large eskies for weekend picnics, so they always come in handy (and doesn’t cause a morning catastrophe when you realise that the panel hasn’t been put in the freezer overnight). **HINT: From day 1, get your child to unpack their lunch bag AND put the panel in the freezer. This becomes their job and responsibility. **

The Lunch Bags come in two sizes and a range of colours including Red, Black, Pink and Navy. The small Lunch Bags retail for $27.95 and the Medium Lunch bags retail for $32.95.

I am also very excited to introduce you to a BRAND NEW Fridge to Go product – the LIMITED EDITION Cool Tote!

This gorgeous new bag features a bottom cooling half that is separated by  a flap so that other items can be put in the top half.It includes a removable chilling panel and offers surround cooling for up to 4 hours. There are extra pockets inside and out, so it makes for a perfect bag for a day at the beach, out with the kids, or even for work! The Cool Tote retails for $49.95.

Fridge to Go have been a long time supporter of Mummy Smiles, and are one of the major sponsors of the 2012 Smile It Forward Calendar. Today the Fridge to Go team would like to offer their continued support by offering all Mummy Smiles readers a free Eco Bottle (valued at $8.95) when you purchase two bags. Simply enter the promo code MSMILES2 at checkout to get your free bottle!

Happy Lunching!

  1. Thanks Nat. I decided this morning that I wasn’t happy with the lunch bag purchase we made a couple weeks ago and was going to head off for more shopping today to find something else.
Perfect timing on your blog post, hubby is sitting beside me (on holidays) and added his agreeance to the idea, lol. So, now I have 2 bags on their way to me with spare panels (express post).
So, now I can go spend my day covering books instead of shopping :)
Looking forward to the lunch box food ideas tomorrow – 2 in school who are fussy!
